Dawn, a medical student, investigates the murder of a mental patient's mother. The patient, Don, disturbs her with his insane ramblings about a menacing figure named Malachi. As Dawn delves deeper and starts being stalked by a mysterious figure, she questions whether Malachi is real or just a product of Don's paranoia and her own imagination.
