In the 17th century, an order of monks in Italy captures and entombs a demon that has possessed one of their own. Four hundred years later, schoolteacher Elizabeth Magrino visits the monastery for research. Unbeknownst to her and the current monks, the evil hidden within the catacombs has been unwittingly released.
