In 1922, Suzanne, a young novelist, isolates herself in the countryside to write her new book. After discovering a sealed room in the basement, her writing flows unusually easily. Soon, she is plagued by visions and nightmares, while the villagers grow alarmed as little girls begin to mysteriously disappear.
