In 1986 Los Angeles, maverick cop Chuck Steel, “the best goddamn cop on the force”, faces his toughest case yet. When the Governor’s new nightlife restrictions spark a wave of bloody disappearances, the police are stumped until a survivor emerges. At the hospital, Chuck meets the eccentric Abraham Van Rental, who warns him of a terrifying threat: Trampires, a horrific mix of vampire and tramp, descending upon the city.
