Vittorio is searching for a woman who matches his ideal. Through a classified ad, he meets Sonia, a sweet, intelligent young woman, but he considers her overweight. A goldsmith by trade, Vittorio becomes obsessed with shaping Sonia’s body and mind like gold. Their relationship gradually develops into a reciprocal masochistic game. When they isolate themselves in a country house in the hills of Veneto, they dangerously lose touch with reality and the outside world.
