As of April 2025, Forbes estimated his net worth at $26.5 billion, ranking him the 75th-richest person in the world. Blavatnik made his initial fortune, alongside other Russian oligarchs, in the privatization of state-owned aluminum and oil assets after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
