A marine biologist and his son go to study the effects of seismic activity on marine life in Malau. They get involved in an investigation of recent drownings with surprising results. While the biologist explores the ocean for a mysterious creature, his son befriends a baby creature that can walk on land. As more dangerous creatures arrive, the biologist risks everything to save the island, the creatures, and his son.
