After his son is stillborn, American diplomat Robert Thorn adopts an orphaned newborn in Italy without his wife Katherine’s knowledge. They name him Damien and raise him as their own. As Damien grows, a series of strange accidents occur, leading Katherine to suspect that their son may be evil.
