Orphaned teenage twins Maria and Frieda move in with their uncle Gustav Weil, leader of the Brotherhood, a vigilante group aiming to eradicate vampirism. However, their methods prove haphazard and ineffective, leading only to widespread fear among the people. The true danger emerges with Count Karnstein. While the twins may appear identical outwardly, Frieda finds herself irresistibly drawn to the Count's castle, which looms over the landscape.
