An artist named Hideo is painting his girlfriend Tomie, but she dismisses it as a poor painting. In a jealous rage, he kills her with an art knife. He then gets his friends Shunsuke and Takumi to help him bury her. Later, at a party, the three friends are shocked to discover that Tomie is somehow there.
