When Sheriff Reed and his son are having a meal at a rest-stop in the middle of the desert, a runaway car with three thieves pulls up to re-fuel. A shootout erupts between the sheriff and the thieves, and those that survive discover they are stranded and being stalked by the `Reeker'.
