Movie review: In 'American Mary,' Katharine Isabelle stars as med student who performs ghastly body modifications underground in a freaky film by writer-director siblings Jen and Sylvia Soska.

Touted as the Next Big Thing in horror, the creepy Soska sisters, Jen and Sylvia, are the writing-directing team that polluted the ozone with a numbing low-budget cult favorite called Dead Hooker in a Trunk.

Once in a while, a mould-breaking horror movie signals the arrival of a unique talent: doubly so in this case, since this bracingly perverse ‘body modification’
