Willard Stiles lives with his sick mother in a decrepit house, and faces cruelty from his boss, Al Martin, who stole the family business. Lonely and isolated, Willard befriends a rat named Ben, discovering he can command him. Using Ben and other rats, Willard seeks vengeance against his tormentors.
