A young girl is strangled in a field, and the murder remains unsolved. Years later, college professor Stefano returns home from Venice to visit his priest brother, Don Paolo. One night, a medium is strangled to death outside the church. The murder resembles the unsolved case from years before, triggering dizzying childhood flashbacks for Stefano, although his memories remain incomplete.
