In 1957, insurance investigator George Lazarus is assigned to interview twelve former employees of the Deadly Sin Cigarette Company after a suspicious insurance claim. He discovers they were all dismissed after falling ill, but before he can report back, Lazarus vanishes. His fiancée Bethany and friend Chip search for him, only to uncover a threat that could signal the end of humanity.
