Wall Street whiz kid Tom Gerrick leads a double life as a serial killer, having gruesomely murdered six victims. As he targets a new victim, he becomes disillusioned with his success. Detectives Jim Renart and Dorothy Smith are under pressure to catch him when Gerrick himself calls the police, claiming to have found a body. Playing mind games with his captors, he shifts from feigned sensitivity to arrogance with the help of a lawyer. As they close in, Gerrick embarks on a violent spree during a live interview.
