After the success of Friday the 13th, a sequel was inevitable -- though 10 sequels (and now a remake) were probably unfathomable to anyone involved. With Friday the 13th Part 2, the creators decided if it ain't broke, don't fix it, and closely mimicked the formula of the original film. Once more, a group of camp counselors arrive at Crystal Lake -- albeit at a different camp than the first -- and once more, before the campers can even arrive, the counselors begin to be slaughtered one by one.

Horror fans will probably delight in seeing yet another group of sexy, teen camp counselors gruesomely executed by yet another unknown (?)assailant, but the enthusiasm will dampen once they recognize too many of the same twists and turns used in the original.

Friday the 13th Part 2 never aspires to be termite art.
