Sure he was took an axe to the head at the end of Part 3, but why should that give Jason Voorhees much pause? After being carted to the morgue, he's quickly up and at 'em again, back at Crystal Lake, with a fresh crop of teenagers to slaughter. But wait, what's this? Could a young boy named Tommy Jarvis (Corey Feldman) be the true match Jason has lacked until now? Could this be Jason's Final Chapter?

Opening line of film - 'I don't want to scare anyone, but Jason is still out there' - is film's only laugh, aside from unintended chuckle in the credit roll for First Aid. Everyone in sight of the lake gets it this time, except for a little boy with a fetish for masks who slaughters the crazed Jason and the boy's older sister (Corey Feldman and Kimberly Beck).

The film seemed like the ideal ending point for the lowbrow slasher series.
