During the English Civil War, a band of deserters escapes a battlefield and encounters an alchemist. Forced to help him find a hidden treasure in an overgrown field, they descend into chaos amidst arguments and paranoia. As they realize the treasure may not be gold, they fall prey to the field's terrifying energies.
