Yannick Bérubé falls off his bike and knocks on the Beaulieu's residence for help. However, Beaulieu is a righteous psychopath and fanatical chess player who kills drug dealers, pedophiles, and other bad people for a better world. Yannick is held hostage for weeks, but since he has done nothing wrong, Beaulieu makes him an offer: if Yannick wins a game of chess against him, he will be free to go.
