In the crowded streets of Madrid, a gang of armed robbers are on the run with the help of a reluctant taxi driver, trying to reach France. However, when night arrives, the only safe haven is deep in the woods of the secluded village of Zugarramurdi; a dark place known for some witch activity in the past.
